Alpinestars - SM3 helmets

Engineered for MX, Enduro, and off-road riding, the SM3 Helmet integrates advanced technologies and innovations designed to enhance ease of use, comfort, and impact protection.

The helmet features advanced shell construction with a thermo-injected shell made from a special polymer blend, utilizing varying degrees of thickness for the optimal combination of lightweight performance and impact protection. The SM3 medium weighs 1430g (ECE) and 1460g (DOT).

Ventilation is maximized with 10 inlets and seven exhaust ports, ensuring high levels of heat transfer exchange. For rotational acceleration force protection, Alpinestars’ patented low-friction coating is applied to the inner part of the main EPS liner, reducing the forces from certain oblique impacts by mimicking the brain’s natural low-friction cerebrospinal fluid. Additionally, a patented visor release system ensures the visor detaches with a precise amount of force to help reduce strain on the rider’s neck during impacts.

The SM3’s construction is carefully engineered for safety and comfort. Its inner and outer surfaces are designed to minimize the effects of oblique impacts, with 5 EPS inner parts of 4 different densities to manage volume and impact performance effectively. Hydration tube channels are integrated into the cheek pads for convenience, and the comfort liner is made from recycled materials to lower its carbon footprint. For a personalized fit, the helmet’s crown and cheek pads are available in different thicknesses as genuine spare parts.
